Endodontics is one of the specialized branches of dentistry that deals with diseases of the dental pulp and the tissues around the root of the tooth. Endodontic treatment or root canal treatment deals with the treatment of the soft pulp tissue inside the tooth. The word endodontics comes from two Greek words meaning “inside” and “tooth”.
